Replaceable carbide inserts
Cutting tools used in metalworking, regardless of the brand of "iron", wear out quite quickly and are quite expensive. Interchangeable carbide plates allow you to effectively solve this problem. Installed on cutters and cutters, they not only significantly increase the productivity of the metalworking process, but also save money on the purchase of a new tool. These carbide inserts make turning and milling more convenient. One of their main advantages is the possibility of quick replacement. Therefore, worn or accidentally damaged plates can be easily and quickly replaced.
Manufacturers strive to produce replaceable carbide plates with the maximum number of cutting edges, taking into account the features of various methods of processing parts. As a result, square, rhombic, triangular and pentagonal plates are available. Tungsten and titanium carbide powders and other high-strength materials are pressed under high temperatures in special forms. Despite such a simple manufacturing process, the plates have high strength characteristics.
The cutting edges of carbide plates are first sharpened at the manufacturing plant. When the treated surface is worn, the product is disconnected and simply rotates. In this way, the cutting edge is replaced. As a result, carbide cutter inserts do not require regular sharpening of the cutting edge, which operators of brazed lathes usually do. Depending on the type of metalworking, carbide plates are available with different geometric parameters.
The purpose and advantages of replacing plates with carbide
Turning inserts can be used for the following tasks
- Rough and final surface preparation of various metal parts
- Internal boring
- threading
- selection of grooves and grooves OD and ID
- Expanding holes
- Cutting sheet materials such as hetinax and glass.
Imported hard alloy tips are characterized by recognized advantages:
- Taegutec plates are made of cobalt, titanium and tungsten carbide and have significantly higher strength parameters due to the carefully selected content of each component;
- Korloy plates are characterized by a fairly high level of wear resistance;
- ZCC plates can be used at temperatures up to 11,500°C and maintain consistently excellent operational characteristics;
- ZCC plates can stably maintain excellent operational characteristics at temperatures up to 11500°C; ZCC plates can be used at temperatures up to 11500°C; ZCC plates can stably maintain excellent operational characteristics at temperatures up to 11500°C;
- High functionality, as carbide plates for various applications in metalworking can be installed in one cutter holder;
- Due to uniform geometry and standard dimensions, carbide turning inserts can be quickly changed on a milling machine, eliminating the need to adjust geometry and processing parameters, which is especially important on CNC machining centers;
- Standard marking on replaceable carbide plates allows you to quickly and easily determine for which materials a specific product is suitable and which processing modes can be used;
- Low cost compared to solid milling cutters.
